Apple Bobber's Cheese Spread

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups shredded CRACKER BARREL Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

DIRECTIONS

  1. Beat all ingredients in large bowl on medium speed until well blended; cover. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.
  2. Serve with assorted NABISCO Crackers and apple and pear slices.

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it wasn't really a hit. People liked it, but I had a lot left over which I threw out because nobody wanted it. I probably wouldn't make this one again.

We all know what a slice of sharp cheddar cheese does for a piece of apple pie. Well...not this it certainly doesn't do much for the applesauce in this spread. Combination of flavor and texture ruined it for me. Sorry.

I work for a Cheese Farm and made this for my boss to try. He loved it and said it would make a great dessert spread! Instead of applesauce, I substitued 1/2c. locally made apple butter which actually has a cinnamon applesauce taste to it. All the other employees who tried it loved it too.
