Nashville, Tennessee

The undisputed home of country music, Nashville is a thriving city squarely rooted in down-home tradition. Not surprisingly, the city’s food scene is heavily influenced by Southern cuisine of yore, with “meat and three” restaurants being especially popular. Common lunchtime destinations, these unpretentious establishments serve up a meat main dish with three vegetable sides, and usually top off the meal with cornbread or biscuits. Another regional specialty is fiery fried chicken like the kind served at Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack, a local favorite. Prince’s chicken, fried in a skillet and then served up on white bread, is known to set mouths ablaze for hours. Somehow, though, it always leaves patrons wanting more.

Amish Bread

Reviewed on Sep. 3, 2008 by KELLBEE
This is a pretty good basic recipe. It's not my favorite, but it's a good go-to. I also like that it doesn't require a lot of yeast. *I'd like to add that 18 tablespoons is 1 cup + 2 tbsps. A previous review incorrectly identified it as 3/4 cups.

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed on Sep. 2, 2008 by cathryn
I made this last night using penne instead of ziti, and it was really delicious. I took the advice of others and mixed the sour cream right in with the hot, drained pasta, then followed the rest of the recipe letter for letter. Moist, cheesy and flavorful - the fresh basil is awesome.

Fruit Pizza I

Reviewed on Sep. 1, 2008 by Joel & Lauren
This was great. I added Cool Whip in the cream cheese mixture to make it lighter, and the total was more than enough to make two pizzas. It doesn't save very well - we refrigerated the extra of the second pizza, but the sugar cookie part got pretty soft.
